Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at ECHN. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients and prepare them for physician examinations, adhering to established office protocols.
- Keep patient charts up-to-date and accurately document all sample medication dispensed.
- Provide oversight to our vaccine program, ensuring compliance with State guidelines.
- Restock exam rooms with necessary supplies and maintain inventory of medical supplies.
- Report malfunctioning medical equipment to the Office Coordinator/Practice Manager.
- Properly clean and sterilize equipment, and prepare surgical trays as directed by the physician.
- Assist physicians with office surgical procedures, perform EKG and Spirometry as ordered, and report lab results to patients.
- Answer pharmacy requests for prescription refills, prepare specimens and paperwork for testing, and instruct patients on collecting sterile urine specimens.
- Obtain precertifications for tests, procedures, treatments, medications, and hospitalizations as needed, and schedule referrals and outside testing for patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhere to CLIA regulations, and maintain confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One of the following: completed a Medical Assistant Program, Certification/Registration as an MA, 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, or attended an MA Program.
- Previous experience working in a medical facility highly preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced confidential medical environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain working relationships and interact with patients and employees on a daily basis.
- Reliable transportation and ability to float to other offices when needed.
- Strong computer and keyboarding skills.
