We are seeking a skilled Mill Operator to join our team at G+L - Cookeville Facility. As a Mill Operator, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of our welded tube mill, ensuring high-quality production and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate the welded tube mill, ensuring optimal production and quality control.
- Monitor and adjust basic tooling and holding fixtures on machines to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Perform visual inspections of parts to identify defects or damage, adhering to established standards.
- Load and unload assigned machines, prepare raw materials, and remove parts from the machine, following established procedures.
- Observe machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunctions and report issues to the supervisor.
- One year of previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a similar role.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to follow work instructions.
- Experience with tooling changeover setup and cutoff operation.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring and inspection equipment, gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other basic precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to perform basic shop math computations and data entry.
- Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination, with the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
