Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optometrist to lead our Eye Care Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of a comprehensive eye care program, providing direct medical/optometric care to patients, and supervising a team of Optometry staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive eye care program that meets the needs of our patients
  • Provide direct medical/optometric care to patients, including diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems
  • Supervise a team of Optometry staff, including assigning work, evaluating performance, and interviewing candidates for positions
  • Ensure that all staff follow accreditation standards and provide high-quality patient care
Requirements
  • Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited educational program
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • One year of professional experience as an optometrist, or completion of a residency program in an institution accredited for such training
Working Conditions

This position is located in a Federally operated hospital, health center, or clinic, and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. The selected individual must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
