Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is on the lookout for a skilled AutoCAD/Civil 3D Technician to become a part of our dynamic team. The Civil CAD Technician will collaborate closely with engineers to execute advanced design tasks, as well as drafting and project-related responsibilities on various assignments.
Responsibilities:
Generate and refine plans by evaluating sketches, notes, and other input materials to identify the optimal method for completing drawings.
Conduct quantity takeoffs and formulate cost estimates.
Execute advanced design computations and earthwork calculations, preparing comprehensive construction plans.
Assess and calculate stormwater drainage areas and steep slope regions.
Develop concept layout plans.
Implement grading, utility, stormwater, and soil erosion/sediment control designs.
Adhere to the company's standard CADD protocols for layering and drawing procedures.
Collaborate with various project teams to facilitate project completion.
Coordinate details and dimensions across drawing sheets.
Create project exhibits.
Tackle assignments of increasing complexity as proficiency develops.
Prepare CAD files for authorized media distribution to external parties/agencies.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate's Degree or a Certificate from a technical institution, preferably in AutoCAD.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and associated plug-ins such as Vehicular Tracking, along with other related software.
Exhibit general computer skills, knowledge, and acumen (i.e., familiarity with Microsoft Office, etc.).
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for the purpose of understanding written job-related communications and verbal instructions.
