Job Summary

Safely operate a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes for Waste Management, a leading provider of waste management services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Vehicle Safely: Ensure compliance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of assigned vehicle using the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and report any issues for corrective review/repair.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by communicating with customers, resolving issues, and ensuring containers are properly positioned and emptied.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work closely with Route Managers and other drivers to improve route efficiencies, identify problems, and ensure safe and efficient service delivery.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately complete and submit customer tickets, DVIR forms, and other documentation as required.
Requirements
  • Commercial Drivers License B (CDL): Possess a valid CDL and meet all state and federal requirements.
  • Safe Driving Record: Maintain an acceptable driving record and pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, as well as work in a fast-paced environment.
