Job Title: Controls Engineer

Actalent is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and programming control systems to meet customer and company specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and program control systems to meet customer and company specifications
  • Develop controls engineering and design strategies to meet applicable requirements
  • Select instrumentation and components to meet required specifications on new projects
  • Prepare project documentation, including spec sheets, design drawings, and validation documents
  • Develop well-documented PLC programs using Rockwell Automation and Siemens software
  • Develop user-friendly HMI applications using Rockwell Automation and Siemens software
  • Support ongoing system operation with troubleshooting and updates
  • Manage time and workload to meet company deadlines
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or 3 years of equivalent experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, PLC ladder logic programming, and HMI application development
  • Familiarity with industrial instrumentation and control components and systems
  • Proficiency in software packages such as RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View Studio
  • Ability to read and design electrical schematics
  • Aptitude to troubleshoot industrial control systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of staying cool under pressure
