Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care, including direct patient care, patient education, and transitions of care
  • Support professional nursing practice across various practice settings and the continuum of care
  • Function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, ensuring accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care
  • Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts and contribute to the development of nursing policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Graduate of a nursing program
  • Current RN license by applicable state requirements
  • One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and excellent critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, and on-call
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting
