The Firefighter will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing medical care, and extinguishing fires. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Fire Chief and/or designee in the Fire Department.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer pre-hospital emergency medical care to the sick, injured, and at the scene of an emergency response and disaster incidents.
- Respond to various fire alarms and take action to extinguish fires, minimize fire and water damage, and prevent injury and loss of life.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate all fire equipment and apparatus and physical ability to perform manual labor with a variety of equipment.
- Demonstrate firefighting skills, hazardous material incident skills, and rescue and medical skills during training and on emergency incidents.
- Physical labor is an essential component, requiring full range of body motion to access sensors in ceilings, ducts, and other out-of-way locations.
- Must possess normal eye sight, hearing, and sense of smell, hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- The position requires a Background Investigation and Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
