Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at United Digestive. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate, and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for ultrasound imaging procedures
  • Assist in lifting and transporting patients
  • Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contraindications
  • Document patient assessments and histories
  • Explain procedures to alleviate patient anxiety and facilitate cooperation
  • Perform ultrasound examinations
  • Operate computer and ultrasound equipment for image production and documentation
  • Prepare images for interpretation by radiologists
  • Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity
  • Perform quality control measures to ensure optimal images
  • Enter and complete patient information, including exam charges, onto Data Cap Forms
Requirements
  • Must have undergone advanced training to become an ultrasound technologist
  • Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved ultrasonography program and registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in abdominal sonography and abdominal Doppler sonography
  • BLS certification in CPR
  • Computer literacy and ability to operate eMDs scheduling software and multiple Microsoft Office applications

  • Work under pressure; assess, respond, and communicate issues in a timely manner
  • Communicate clearly with patients and coworkers through the telephone, email, and in-person
  • Interpret and apply clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures
Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands

Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal imaging/ultrasound scanning environment; travel within the Metro area is required. Assist in lifting and transporting patients.
