Job Summary:

Husson University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian I to join our facilities maintenance team. As a Custodian I, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe work environment for all employees and students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and service facilities and university buildings, including general service and cleaning, restroom cleaning, floor maintenance, and trash removal.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, including floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, and chemical dispensers.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as dusting, polishing, and repairing furniture and fixtures.
• Assist with special events and projects, such as setup and teardown of tables, chairs, and other equipment.
• Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, practices, and safety protocols.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies (up to 75 pounds).
• Valid driver's license (not required but preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

The Custodian I will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other allergens. The position requires standing, walking, and climbing stairs for extended periods. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
