About the Role



We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Roadway Engineer to lead our Transportation Design Team in Columbus, OH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing complex design tasks, leading design teams, and preparing final design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions.



Key Responsibilities




  • Perform complex design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) related to the development of transportation, site development, and stormwater improvement projects in MicroStation OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Lead and coordinate design teams.
  • Prepare final design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions.
  • Develop memorandums and other written technical documents.
  • Manage design tasks and identify changes and risks.
  • Determine client requirements and contribute to the development of scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Provide guidance and mentor junior staff.
  • Utilize relationships with clients to achieve WSP's business development goals.


Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • P.E. registration in Ohio or ability to obtain in 6 months.
  • 7+ years' experience in transportation/civil engineering.
  • Good technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience leading design tasks and managing junior design staff.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Ability to implement WSP's Quality Control Procedures.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
