At American Senior Communities, our Healthcare Aide Trainee positions play a vital role in delivering individualized care to our residents while pursuing their Certified Nursing Aide certification.

ASC's Nurse Aide Training program is a compensated employment opportunity open to anyone aspiring to become a Certified Nursing Aide. No prior experience is necessary; participants will complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 75 hours of hands-on clinical training to qualify as a CNA. Responsibilities and Impact at American Senior Communities:
  • Assist in making resident beds.
  • Transport residents in wheelchairs to and from activities, dining areas, and therapy sessions efficiently.
  • Distribute clothing protectors to residents during meals.
  • May assist with the presetting of dining tools for coffee and beverages.
  • Deliver food trays to residents without assisting with feeding.
  • Ensure that clean ice water pitchers and cups are provided and filled in each resident's room at least once per shift.
  • Help maintain order and cleanliness in the unit, including cleaning pantries, utility rooms, wheelchairs, bedside tables, and organizing bedside drawers and closets.
  • Keep residents' personal care items organized in bags.
  • Transport soiled clothing to laundry or for repair.
  • Fill linen carts and distribute linens to residents.
  • Participate in or assist with resident activities.
  • Promptly report unusual occurrences or significant changes in residents' physical or behavioral conditions to the Unit Charge Nurse.
  • Adhere to the company's privacy practices and procedures concerning resident and employee records, as well as all applicable state and federal privacy laws, including HIPAA.
  • Comply with the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as mandated by Bloodborne Pathogens Standards. PPE will be provided, used, and maintained.
  • Exhibit teamwork and maintain regular attendance to ensure quality care and services for our residents.
  • Demonstrate C.A.R.E. values to residents, family members, customers, and staff.
