Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Network Engineer and Spectrum Manager to join our Air National Guard Units team. As an IT specialist, you will play a critical role in designing and engineering IT networks carried over various transmission systems, ensuring the reliability and security of our communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will develop and engineer IT networks carried over various transmission systems such as multi-channel satellite, troposphere scatter systems, Line-Of-Sight (LOS) RF radios, LOS laser radios, and cable systems.
  • You will engineer and design router-to-router connections utilizing military and commercial protocols, switch-to-switch trunking, circuit configurations through military and commercial multiplexers, and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM).
  • You will develop plans for employment of communications systems to support operations in support of training and the deployed warfighter.
  • You will plan and design Wide Area Networks (WANs) consisting of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Military Specification (MILSPEC) components to operate in accordance with accepted Information Technology (IT) security policies using network planning tools.
  • You will determine operational, technical and support requirements for the location, installation, operation and maintenance of network equipment and systems.
  • You will coordinate and conduct operational tests and evaluations of designed networks to optimize capabilities.
  • You will review and analyze data, make technical judgments, and prepare decisions and recommendations concerning the quality, acceptability, and/or need for changes/improvements.

Requirements:
  • You must be a male applicant born after 12/31/1959 and registered under the Military Selective Service Act.
  • You must have military grades E-1 through E-6.
  • You must have at least 12 months of specialized experience at the GS-09 level or the equivalent.
