Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Black Hawk College. As a part-time Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of assigned areas, including vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Keep assigned areas neat and clean, including vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces
  • Assist in special events setup and teardown, and ensure the security of all College property
  • Complete assigned duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work effectively as a team member with other custodians and supervisors
  • Follow all federal, state, and local safety regulations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or recognized equivalent
  • Previous experience operating and maintaining machines inherent to the job (e.g. floor scrubber, buffer) preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers and communicate in a pleasant manner
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position working 3rd shift hours of 10:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
