Job Title: HR Generalist - Talent Development SpecialistAbout the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled HR Generalist to join our team at Sierra Instruments in Monterey, California. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of HR-related duties on a professional level, including employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, talent acquisition, and employment law compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations;
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form;
- Review bi-weekly payroll for accuracy and compliance with California Wage & Hour regulations;
- Conduct recruitment efforts for personnel, students, and temporary employees; conduct new-employee orientations; monitor career-pathing programs; and write and place advertisements;
- Manage all aspects of the employee life cycle for employees at assigned locations, including onboarding, offboarding, leaves of absence, performance, etc.;
- Support management in employee talent development initiatives;
- Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database;
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as requested by supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management or related discipline;
- 3+ years' experience in Human Resources;
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred;
- Strong knowledge of hiring processes;
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations;
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills;
- Customer-focused attitude, with a high level of professionalism and discretion;
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Excellent communication skills.
Salary Information:$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
