Position Overview:
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Vascular Technologist is responsible for conducting sophisticated diagnostic examinations of the vascular system utilizing advanced echo, ultrasound, and Doppler technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts detailed ultrasound assessments of cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to aid in the diagnosis of circulatory disorders.
  • May carry out therapeutic interventions such as pseudoaneurysm compression.
  • Accurately documents and maintains examination data, providing preliminary interpretations of results as needed.
  • Depending on departmental needs, may also perform routine ultrasound procedures for abdominal, small parts, breast, OB/GYN, and additional vascular assessments.
  • Assists medical professionals with procedures including biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and needle localization.
Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Sonography or Radiology Technology Program is required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in vascular ultrasound is preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must possess Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification from ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT. BLS certification is also required.
