Position Summary
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a renewable natural gas plant, ensuring that all production, financial, and safety goals are met. This includes coordinating with the construction team to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence: Ensure the plant operates at optimal levels, meeting production, financial, and safety targets.
- Project Management: Coordinate with the construction team to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical support to the construction team, including interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain tight quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality products.
- Team Management
- Training and Development: Train and supervise technicians on plant operations and maintenance, and assist in the development of project procedures, management tools, and standards.
- Commissioning and Testing: Commission, test, and operate the plant post-construction to ensure it meets operational acceptance tests (OATs) and is safe for operation.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all plant safety rules and regulations, and hold self and others accountable for safe operations.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Safely operate production equipment and systems, and perform basic maintenance duties proficiently.
- Process Optimization: Monitor efficiency of production processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to optimize plant throughput.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of activities, shutdowns, abnormal operations, troubleshooting, and problem areas.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree, vocational technical diploma, or equivalent technical experience (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: 10 years of experience working in a process production environment or natural gas industry with understanding of process flow.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, and proficiency in CMMS systems (Fiix).
- Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and as a team member, multi-task effectively, and communicate clearly and effectively.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., climb fixed and movable ladders up to 35 feet high, and perform basic maintenance duties proficiently.
- Environmental Conditions: Comfortable working in confined spaces and overhead work, and willing to wear and use all required personal protective equipment.
