Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented JR Security Officer to provide security services to the State Capitol building and surrounding state buildings.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide security services to the State Capitol building and surrounding state buildings
  • Respond to emergencies and alarms in a calm and professional manner
  • Assist state employees and the public with a wide range of tasks and requests
  • Perform vehicle and foot patrols of interior and exterior of buildings
  • Monitor security cameras and respond to any incidents or suspicious activity
  • Maintain accurate records of all shift activities, complaints, and incidents
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of State and employing agency safety/security policies, procedures, and guidelines


Requirements:


  • No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class
  • One year of security experience and Microsoft Office is preferred
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is required
  • Ability to walk approximately five (5) miles during each shift
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected
