Assistant Store Manager Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in maintaining company policies and operational processes. Key responsibilities include driving daily sales and profit results to meet/exceed budget, managing inventory accuracy, monitoring safety programs, developing store associates to be successful, ensuring store standards are maintained, and enhancing customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Merchandising Opportunities: Review the sales floor daily to identify merchandising opportunities and maximize customer experience.
  2. Sales Goals: Review daily sales goals and motivate staff to meet or exceed sales targets.
  3. Company Policies: Ensure all company policies and processes are executed at a high level.
  4. Talent Acquisition: Actively recruit, interview, and hire exceptional talent.
  5. Accountability and Fairness: Support an environment of accountability and fairness.
  6. Staff Development: Develop each store employee to be effective in their current role.
  7. Safety Requirements: Ensure all safety requirements are validated and audits completed on time.
Qualifications:
  1. Sales Reporting: Ability to interpret sales reporting data to improve store performance.
  2. Desire to Exceed: Strong desire to exceed expectations to achieve both personal and financial success.
  3. Coaching and Development: Ability to coach and develop staff to be effective in their current role.
  4. Customer Service: Exceptional customer service and interpersonal/communication skills.
  5. Daily Ownership: Dedicated daily ownership of financial and performance goals.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: Two years of experience in Retail Assistant Store Management or three years of related management experience.
  2. Education: High-school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule including outside of normal business operating hours.
  4. Computer Skills: Proficient with various computer systems/software such as Point of Sale, OUTLOOK, EXCEL, and WORD.
