Housekeeping Assistant

As a Housekeeping Aide at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and employees. Under indirect supervision, you will be responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas, ensuring that all surfaces, equipment, and facilities are properly cleaned and disinfected.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and disinfect all surfaces, including floors, walls, ceilings, and equipment, using a variety of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors, as well as clean and polish floors using a buffing machine.
- Collect, bag, transport, and dispose of refuse and hazardous/infectious waste in a sanitary and safe manner.
- Sort and store recyclables as instructed.
- Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, and other plumbing fixtures, replacing disposable items such as paper towels and soap.
- Clean and prepare discharge units, make beds, and report the availability of beds/units upon completion.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, as well as basic records and reports as required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, customer service, and teamwork.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, as well as stand for long periods of time.
- Three (3) months of work experience.
- High school diploma.
