Orthopedic Physician Assistant

At OrthoArizona, we're bringing the best together. Our organization was created to help serve all orthopedic and sports medicine needs throughout the Valley. We have a wide range of orthopedic surgeons and mid-level providers, including physical and occupational therapists, PAs, and NPs.
We're one of Arizona's largest privately owned and most comprehensive orthopedic practices, with over 75 locally and nationally renowned providers across 30 locations, plus in-house state-of-the-art MRI capabilities.
As a Physician Assistant with OrthoArizona, you'll be part of a team committed to best-in-class patient care, pioneering research, and technology, and recognizing our team members.
This position is with one of our hand, wrist, and elbow surgeons, who's seeking a full-time PA for clinic and OR time at two locations: Chandler and South Gilbert.
As a Physician Assistant with OrthoArizona, you'll get to:
- Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the Physician.
- Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
- Review patient medical records.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
- Perform complete physical exams and record findings.
- Establish presumptive diagnoses.
- Order appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures.
- Administer injections and medications.
- Advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
- Recommend community resources to help patient and family needs.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medication and treatment procedures.
- Assist physicians in recording patient progress.
- Issue diagnostic orders.
- Triage patient phone calls.
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Provide on-call services on an assigned basis.
- Prioritize work activities based on clinical demands.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Prefer Orthopedic experience in OR/Clinic.
Working knowledge of computer programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Complete and maintain HCP training.
Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Maintain Arizona State License.
Maintain CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of Physician Assistant experience in a busy orthopedic practice.
