Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Bus Nurse to join our team at Amergis. As a School Bus Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional healthcare services to students in a school setting. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient care, adhering to our company's philosophy, standards, and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate student care needs

Demonstrate the provision of skilled nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders and individualized healthcare plans

Perform interventions, treatments, and medication administration according to identified priorities

Monitor and document the effectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medications

Complete documentation per client expectations

Coordinate and facilitate services as requested between the school, local health agencies, and other community resources to meet the needs of the student

Communicate with school district personnel about student plans of care and individualized healthcare plans

Notify District School Nurse, Amergis Supervisor, parent, or physician as outlined in the individualized healthcare plan regarding changes in student condition, physician notification to obtain necessary orders, and other critical information

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited registered, practical, or vocational nursing program

Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational, or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing

One year of professional experience, preferred

Complies with accepted professional standards and practice

Willingness to participate in skill advancement, if applicable

Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program

Current CPR

PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

Ability to effectively elicit and provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required

Computer proficiency required

Must be at least 18 years of age
