About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Network Specialist to join our team at Lumen. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunication services, including POTS and DSL.

Your primary focus will be on providing efficient and quality service to both internal and external customers, working well with others to achieve common goals, and fostering a cooperative climate.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and troubleshoot basic technical problems or issues related to telecommunications networks.
  • Install, maintain, and repair residential/small business telecommunication services, including POTS and DSL.
  • Perform splicing functions on outside plant facilities, ensuring cable sheath openings are secure.
  • Work collaboratively with Central Office teams to meet customer commitments.
  • Connect wires and cables to terminals, attaching/detaching various hardware as needed.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, maps, blueprints, diagrams, and other documentation from supervisors or colleagues.
  • Operate with telecom color-coded wires and cables, adhering to established procedures.
Requirements
  • A minimum of six months of experience within the last five years in installing, maintaining, and repairing residential/small business telecommunication services, including POTS and HSI.
  • Familiarity with basic electricity principles, including voltage, current, resistance, power, grounding, insulation, and Ohm's Law.
  • Ability to complete designated work tasks within specified timeframes, adjusting schedules as necessary to meet changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and customers.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require climbing, working at elevations exceeding 18 feet, and lifting objects weighing over 75 pounds.
  • A valid State driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, preferably holding a CDL.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $22.14 per hour, reflecting the base pay range for Oregon-based employees, which spans from $12.61 to $34.24. Compensation may vary based on individual qualifications and experience.
