Surgical Technologist Position

The Massachusetts General Hospital Outpatient Surgical Center in Waltham is in search of a dedicated Surgical Technologist.

Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 Available (Excludes Current MGB Surgical Technologists)

  • Responsible for maintaining surgical scrubs for procedures and executing various tasks related to the preparation and upkeep of the operating room, while assisting in the peri-operative care of patients.
  • The Surgical Technologist II level represents the foundational standard expected of all Surgical Technologists. At this level, the individual will mentor within a cluster of services and serve as a resource within that cluster.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday during daytime hours.
Qualifications

Educational and Experience Criteria for a Surgical Technologist

• High school diploma or equivalent, along with completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program (*refer to substitution details below).

• Current Surgical Technologist Certification must be obtained within one year following graduation from a surgical technologist program or have prior employment as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before a specified date or have successfully completed a military training program for surgical technology.

• A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care environment is required.

Preferred Qualifications for a Surgical Technologist

• An Associate's degree is preferred.

• Four years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting is preferred.

• Experience in committee roles and leadership is preferred.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
