Position Summary:
The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Emergency Department is tasked with delivering extensive clinical pharmacy services across the ED and its related areas, including Pediatrics, Trauma, and Urgent Care. This role encompasses pharmacokinetic evaluations and therapeutic consultations to ensure optimal patient care.
In addition to the core responsibilities outlined, the ED pharmacist may also be trained to support additional pharmacy functions. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Medication order processing and validation
- Preparation of various clinical documentation
- Other assigned duties as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
BS Pharm or Pharm D is required. Advanced training such as residency, fellowship, or board certification is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in an Emergency Department setting is strongly preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
Candidates must possess or be eligible for licensure as a registered pharmacist in Ohio. Access to OARRS is required, along with current certifications in CPR, BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
