Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Quantum Pain and Orthopedic in Austin, TX. As a clinical provider, you will be responsible for maintaining and promoting the health of our patients requiring acute care. You will model patient-centered focused care while collaborating with our inter-professional healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide medical services to patients, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide medical care under the direction of the physician.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, identify normal/abnormal health characteristics, develop a plan of care, initiate appropriate interventions, and evaluate care outcomes on defined patient populations.
- Perform delegated functions under physician supervision, such as differential diagnosis, use of prescriptive authority, and treatment according to practice guidelines, protocols, and/or standing orders.
- Use critical thinking skills and clinical judgment to work autonomously as defined by the Nurse Practice Act. Collaborate with the Physician and healthcare team members to manage/coordinate patient care.
- Record accurate consultation data in patients' records.
- Charting in the patient's medical record is routinely to be completed on the same day as the patient's visit.
- Instigate necessary invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests or investigations and interpret findings/reports.
- Provide safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, individualized patient care.
- Contribute to the practice achieving its quality targets to sustain the high standards of patient care and service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the practice.
- Follow all internal policies and procedures; be accountable for completion of all operational tasks according to departmental guidelines to ensure appropriate clinical processing/documentation.
- See patients in a timely and efficient manner, stay reasonably on time for scheduled appointments in practice throughout the day, unless exceptional circumstances occur.
- Maintains current licensure and credentials. Remains current in practice.
- Responds and complies to requests for information including sending faxes and e-mails.
- Report statistics as required.
- Protects patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements.
- Follows all safety rules on the job. Reports all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the work place.
- Travels as necessary to other facilities.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
- Prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas.
- BLS, ACLS.
- Master's degree in nursing.
