BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a full-time Emergency Services Director who will work closely with our emergency clinicians, specialists, and leadership team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine and at least three years of experience in emergency services. Previous leadership experience is preferred. We are looking to expand our current emergency department due to the rapid growth of the service.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Manage the schedule for all emergency clinicians, including time-off requests.
• Facilitate regular emergency clinician meetings and participate in hospital leadership meetings.
• Mentor emergency clinicians and new support staff, overseeing case management and providing guidance as needed.
• Integrate emergency and specialty services to successfully manage all hospitalized cases.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring patient safety reporting in the emergency department.
• Actively contribute to recruiting new emergency clinicians, ensuring new hires have a mentor assigned to support retention and engagement.
• Assist in customer service issues as needed and help management resolve issues as appropriate.
• Partner with hospital leadership to identify opportunities for improvement in emergency patient care, medical protocols, and client service levels.
• Stay up-to-date on hospital environment and issues of concern, working collaboratively with the Medical Director and hospital leadership on personnel issues.
• Assist with performance reviews and oversee capital purchases for the emergency department.
