About the Role

This position involves direct management of claims handling, including coverage verification, investigation, reserving, negotiation, and litigation management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's most complex and high-exposure claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the most complex claims, ensuring timely resolution and minimal exposure.
  • Perform coverage verification, claim investigation, reserving, and disposition of significant claims.
  • Oversee all aspects of claim management, including litigation management, trial monitoring, and reporting.
  • Negotiate claim settlements directly or through attorneys within approved settlement authority.
  • Maintain effective teamwork, model appropriate behavior, and provide informal support for colleagues.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A four-year college degree, preferably in law.
  • Demonstrated experience in direct claim handling, with 7-10 years preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present to both large audiences and one-on-one.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a high degree of confidentiality.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
