Senior Laboratory Operations Manager

Our client is a leading entity in the production of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) eggs and related laboratory products and services essential for the development and manufacturing of biologics. They are seeking a Senior Laboratory Operations Manager who will be tasked with overseeing multiple production laboratories across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide laboratory production teams, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Enhance support staff capabilities to provide exceptional, responsive assistance with extensive technical knowledge regarding our products and their applications.
  • Exemplify outstanding, proactive technical support to key accounts as part of a collaborative team.
  • Assess, track, and analyze performance metrics to advise upper management on staffing needs, efficiency enhancements, and performance benchmarks.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Animal Science, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline with over 8 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of prior management or leadership experience in a scientific support or relevant role.
  • Proven expertise in a production laboratory environment, adherence to good laboratory practices, and experience in regulated settings such as the FDA or USDA.
  • Adept at comprehending and articulating complex scientific, interpersonal, regulatory, and business matters.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Business, Molecular Biology, Biology, Animal Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Experience in technical relationship management with key or strategic partners.
  • Proven success as part of a cross-functional project or customer support team.
