The Spiritual Care Provider offers compassionate guidance and pastoral support to patients and their families.
Operating under close supervision, this position utilizes the principles of psychology, spirituality, and theology to uplift and assist individuals from diverse religious backgrounds and cultures.
Talent Pool:
Corporate Services/Professional
Responsibilities:
Conducts spiritual care visits to patients to ensure consistent emotional and spiritual support.
Evaluates spiritual needs and provides timely consultation to patients, families, and caregivers in a nurturing manner.
Documents notes for the medical team and suggests recommendations to enhance the patient's emotional well-being and comfort.
Coordinates with clergy or spiritual advisors to facilitate spiritual care for patients and family members as needed.
Keeps an updated list of local community resources for spiritual and religious support services.
Engages in hospital committees and interdisciplinary initiatives as requested or assigned, aligning with the vision and mission of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department.
Offers consultation and delivers educational presentations in support of the Clinical Pastoral Education Program and Employee Assistance Counseling Program as requested.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
Master's in Divinity from an accredited seminary or equivalent; One year Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
Eligible for certification within 3 years of hire date by a recognized chaplaincy certifying body.
