Job Summary:
The Southern Seven Health Department is seeking a qualified Substitute Cook to join our team at the Metropolis Head Start in Illinois. As a Substitute Cook, you will be responsible for the safe preparation and delivery of CACFP-approved meals to infants, toddlers, and children enrolled in the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals for children using provided menus and recipes.
- Complete and submit requisitions for food and supplies necessary for food preparation.
- Drive a vehicle to pick up local supplies as needed (mileage reimbursed).
- Maintain accurate records of monthly food and non-food inventories.
- Unload food deliveries and store supplies according to guidelines.
- Submit required paperwork by set deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen meeting food service sanitation guidelines.
- Make food substitutions meeting CACFP guidelines and maintain accurate documentation.
- Follow special diets and food allergies as needed.
- Attend food service staff meetings and trainings as required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Current Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification.
- Prefer experience related to food service work.
Compensation:
$15.30/hour.
