We are seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to join our team at xAI, a cutting-edge organization dedicated to creating AI systems that accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in employment law to contribute to our mission. As an Employment Counsel, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on global employment law matters, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and staying updated with legal trends and changes that could impact our operations.
You will also develop, implement, and update company policies related to employment, including employee handbooks, remote work policies, and AI Tutor annotation. Additionally, you will craft employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, and equity compensation plans, conduct internal investigations on workplace issues or complaints, and mitigate risks by advising on potential legal issues related to HR practices.
Our ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, license or qualification to practice law in California, and 6+ years of combined legal experience at an innovative technology company and top law firm. In-house experience as employment counsel at a Business to Consumer or Business to Business company is also preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on global employment law matters

Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

- In-house experience as employment counsel at a Business to Consumer or Business to Business company
Salary Range: $200-250k/year
