Job Overview

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing safe and focused nursing care to assigned patients with predictable health care needs. As an LVN, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and assist in carrying out the patient's plan of care in accordance with the state's nurse practice act.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide safe and compassionate nursing care to assigned patients, as directed by the Registered Nurse and the patient's plan of care.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality and safe patient care and excellent customer service.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient care that reflects the plan of care.
  • Conduct focused patient assessments to identify patient needs and develop a plan of care.
  • Administer medications in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Report data to assist in the identification of problems and formulation of goals/outcomes and patient-centered plans of care.
  • Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to plan, deliver, and coordinate patient-centered care.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care.
Basic Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. and graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) program.
  • Experience: Two years of relevant experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in an acute care setting.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the state in which you practice, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
