Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to join our Bridge Design Department at Larson Design Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing clients and projects, including design, communications, personnel management, budgets, schedules, quality control, business development, and client communication & relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation & modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Manage clients/bridge projects specific to local municipalities, PennDOT, PA DCNR, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), and more.
  • Develop and implement annual business goals and multi-year strategic business plans for the Bridge Design Department.
  • Manage services up to $1M in revenue, the Senior Project Manager manages services over $1M in revenue.
  • Create and track client proposals, including writing scope, technical & price proposals, statements of interests, amendments, developing budgets & schedules, and identifying potential issues.
  • Prepare workload forecasting reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, survey, and other rules, regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Possess knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to design of projects.
  • Prepare technical and price proposals, statements of interests, amendments, and schedules.
  • Promote, utilize, and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate contract agreements for projects. Sign contract agreement within the allotted parameters provided.
  • Identify new markets, develop leads & opportunities, perform business development activities, and pursue new geographies.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and sub-consultants.
  • Direct, mentor, and guide team members and staff; provide annual performance evaluations and career development plans.
  • Manage project risk in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years' job-related experience, a minimum of fifteen (15) years experience for Sr. Project Manager.
  • Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) or other professional licensure in field of expertise strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microstation, Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Designer, and ASTA is a plus.
  • Must possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a Project Team, possess strong leadership & interpersonal skills, and strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to interact professionally with clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other external sources in a professional manner.
  • Must be proficient in public speaking, creating presentations, and delegation.
  • Experience with PennDOT, Local Municipalities, PA DCNR, PTC, and more.
