Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems to ensure efficient operation and prevent downtime.
  • Repair and maintain HVAC equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct general repair and grounds maintenance tasks, including landscaping and snow removal.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations and protocols.
  • Participate in special functions, including facility cleaning and alarm response.
  • Comply with facility safety, infection control, and security programs.

  • Perform related duties as requested by management.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current NCI equivalent as approved by the Chief Nursing Officer (or obtained within the first 30 days of hire).
  • One year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of basic systems, including electrical, HVAC, and boilers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of interior construction, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients at all times.
  • Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with software and/or equipment, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize projects, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Physical Requirements

The work is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, noise, and vibration. The physical demands of this job include lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally, as well as sitting or standing for extended periods.
