We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team at Reliable Home Care. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our clients.

About the Job

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

As a Personal Care Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive supervision and support to our clients. This may include assisting with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as preparing meals and managing medication.

You will also be responsible for documenting client notes and reports, achieving a minimum of 12 hours of training through mandatory company-wide huddles, and participating in activities with clients.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, empathy, and a positive attitude. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with instrumental activities of daily living, such as shopping and appointments outside the home
  • Providing companionship and social interaction with clients
  • Supporting clients with specific needs and activities of daily living (ADL), bathrooms, hygiene, eating, etc.
  • Staying accessible and in contact with management and reporting any concerns or incidents in a timely fashion
  • Work shifts promptly and as scheduled
  • Has access to reliable transportation, provides insurance/registration in a timely manner, and drives clients safely
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Ability to obtain company-sponsored CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must have basic knowledge of proper food handling and appliances/equipment use found in clients' home
  • Must have knowledge of basic principles of cleanliness and safety
  • Must be able to demonstrate a capacity for a high level of tolerance to occasional, stressful situations
  • Must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the caregiver role through a friendly, caring attitude
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of integrity and dependability in commitment to and in completion of work assignments
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to complete a skills validation test
  • Must maintain a current Colorado driver's license, in good standing and necessary auto insurance as required by the state law
