Gastroenterology Technician

The Gastroenterology Technician assists healthcare professionals in performing procedures, patient care services, and other duties as assigned. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain medical equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist physicians and other clinical staff members in carrying out procedures that require aseptic techniques and standard precautions.
- Transport medical carts to different areas of the facility as needed, prepare patients for exams or procedures, and assist physicians as required.
- Monitor patients, recognize changes in condition, and seek appropriate help promptly.
- Clean and disinfect rooms before and after procedures, take soiled equipment to the decontamination room, and maintain an adequate inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Set up procedure rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in good working order.
- Restock supplies in assigned rooms at the end of each shift.
- Perform quality checks on equipment, ensure repairs as needed, and clean and disinfect specialty equipment according to established policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to see and hear with or without correction.
- Take personal responsibility to participate in performance improvement activities as they become available.
- Attend 100% of in-service education, as required.
- Attend 50% of staff meetings, with accountability for content if unable to attend.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience.
- Certification/License/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
