Statewide Medical Director Position

VitalCore Health Strategies, a leading provider of correctional healthcare, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Statewide Medical Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing guidance, leadership, and oversight of all aspects of correctional medical care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical direction and oversight of medical services, including authorization of services and consultation to clinical operations.
- Ensure the clinical quality and integrity of patient medical care, including oversight of utilization and quality management, credentialing, and best practice guideline development.
- Support facilities in developing site-specific protocols, interpreting policies, and leading initiatives related to medical services and nursing care.
- Supervise physicians and mid-level providers, and participate in staff and community education initiatives.
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Michigan.
- Board Certification.
- Valid unrestricted DEA License.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Master's degree in business administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), Healthcare Administration (MHCA) or similar preferred.
- Knowledge of managed healthcare systems, medical quality assurance, quality improvement, and risk management required.
- Experience in launching and managing innovative medical programs, including developing, conducting, and evaluating program audits.
- Experience working with information technology staff to implement and manage sophisticated practice management and/or EHR software packages required.
- Leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with use of Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
