Job Title: EDIS Speech Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled EDIS Speech Pathologist to join our team at Koniag Government Services. As a Speech Pathologist, you will provide full spectrum speech therapy services to eligible children and their families in the natural or least restrictive setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide speech therapy services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities
  • Participate in the screening of infants and toddlers to determine the likelihood of developmental delay
  • Assist in the determination of appropriate curriculum, strategies, and outcomes for child and family programming
  • Ensure that the adaptations and accommodations recommended by other practitioners are incorporated in the child's daily activities
  • Participate in EDIS team meetings for pre-eligibility staffing and with families to determine eligibility
  • Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP) with the Early Intervention team and family
  • Provide competent discipline-specific services to children and families determined eligible for EDIS services
  • Provide in-service training to other EDIS staff to promote trans-disciplinary service delivery
  • Consult and provide technical assistance to other team members, Child Development Services staff, and extended family members
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in speech pathology or communication disorders
  • Current certification of Clinical Competency in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within the past 5 years serving infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities
  • At least 1 year of experience providing services under IDEA to children of any age
  • Knowledge of current IDEA requirements regarding services in least restrictive settings
  • Familiarity with Part C of IDEA and the requirements for measurable outcomes
Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
