Barnstable Public Schools is seeking a qualified Personal Care Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide support and care to students with disabilities, working closely with special education teachers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized support plans for students.
- Provide physical assistance with toileting, personal care, and hygiene, when necessary.
- Assist with collecting, maintaining, and organizing data and portfolios, and/or work samples of student(s).
- Support student(s) inclusion in the general education setting as consistent with student's IEP.
- Collaborate with teachers and other service providers to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have one year of college required; two years of college preferred. They must also have physical condition so as to be able to manage behavior/physically challenged students; must have the ability to lift 50 pounds. Interest in and exposure with students with disabilities is also essential.
