We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors while collecting high-quality plasma for life-changing medicines.
Key Responsibilities- Greet donors and ensure a positive experience throughout their visit
- Perform venipuncture and programming of plasmapheresis machines
- Monitor donors during the donation process and manage any reactions
- Perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment
- Stock supplies, break down empty cartons, and assist with proper disposal
- Take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures, as well as monitor the electronic donor questionnaire system
- Perform finger sticks, test samples, and record other donor measures, including hematocrit, total protein, and weight
- Enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS)
- Coordinate donors to the donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system
- Support the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
- Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
- Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
- Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
- 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient-facing role is helpful
