Job Overview

The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant plays a crucial role in the accurate and timely dissemination of financial data for the Outpatient Medical divisions within Healthpeak Properties, Inc. This position reports directly to the Manager of Operational Accounting and encompasses a variety of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough monthly variance analyses for a portfolio comprising Outpatient Medical facilities and hospitals.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of cash reconciliations.
  • Examine ground and tenant lease agreements to ensure proper setup in accounting systems or manual tracking.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations.
  • Engage in monthly activities related to the financial closing process.
  • Develop annual budgets for selected properties managed in-house.
  • Analyze tenant recoveries for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with property managers to gather necessary documentation for audit requests.
  • Compile various quarterly schedules to support 10-Q/K disclosures.
  • Assist in overseeing the work of Accounting Associates as needed.
  • Participate in or lead special projects as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient in Excel, with experience in Macros, Pivot tables, and index match functions.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • Experience in a multi-entity or multi-facility accounting environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • A collaborative team player with a desire to learn and enhance skills.
