About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Digital Design Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our Electronic Combat Solutions Hardware Engineering Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing FPGA solutions for various applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in design architecture and ownership of RTL coding
  • Perform synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and basic test bench development
  • Lab testing and product support
  • FPGA security and compliance
Requirements
  • 6+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree (less with an advanced degree)
  • Current Security Clearance (Secret), or eligible to obtain one
  • Experience in FPGA (preferred) or ASIC Design / Development
  • VHDL (preferred) or Verilog HDL coding
  • Experience with digital design tools and simulators
  • Working knowledge of internal logic analyzer (ILA/chipscope/signaltap)
  • Familiarity with static timing analysis tools and timing closure
  • Experience with clock domain crossing techniques
  • Experience with designer-level test bench (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog)
  • Familiarity with revision control (GIT, CVS, Clearcase, Subversion, etc.)
  • Strong debug and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter and a good team player
  • Ability to mentor and willingness to be mentored
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in hardware design and hands-on lab debug
  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado or Intel/Altera Quartus
  • Experience dealing with legacy designs
  • Experience running digital simulations with Modelsim/QuestaSim
  • Experience generating scripts (Perl, Tcl, Python, shell, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of UVM/SystemVerilog and familiarity with design verification
  • Working knowledge of C/C++
  • Working knowledge of high speed ADC/DAC interfaces, SERDES, PCIe
  • Experience with DSP fundamentals – and FPGA implementation – as well as Matlab/Simulink
