Job Title: Specialty Coordinator RN GI Lab

UCHealth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Coordinator RN GI Lab to join our team. As a key member of our Procedural Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our GI Lab.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with management and clinical responsibilities of Procedural Services to support patient care.
  • Coordinate procedures in specialty areas, in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare disciplines.
  • Perform circulating and scrub roles based on the specialty service line needs.
  • Serve as a clinical expert in the delivery of patient care, and be a role model and clinical resource for the specialty area.
  • Assist in managing specialty cases, and recommend improvements for the delivery of services.
  • Communicate decisions or changes to staff, and evaluate nursing service goals and initiatives.
  • Document care provided per established guidelines, and collaborate with staff and physicians to update preference cards.
  • Conduct inventory of specialty supplies, and communicate with scheduling regarding future procedures.
  • Facilitate resolution of daily operational issues in collaboration with the charge nurse, and ensure the availability of instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Provide input for performance evaluations, and provide verbal coaching to staff for in-the-moment teaching and inform department leadership of concerns.
  • Assist with instrumentation and capital expenditure budget, and evaluate specialty equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Charge Nurse for staff assignments to support skill growth for the team, and monitor shelf life of all specialty-related goods and supplies.
  • Eliminate redundancy and non-used items, and facilitate development of specialty team members and provide in-service programs for staff.
  • Support and assist with orientation, education, competencies, and professional development in collaboration with the Educator, and promote compliance with Recommended Practices.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 2 years of experience in a specific procedural area.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
