Overview

Novant Health is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. As a PRN Cardiac Sonographer, you will be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $1,000. (New Hires)

The successful candidate will be responsible for daily operations of the echo lab, equipment maintenance, and quality improvement. They will maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times and be self-motivated to increase their level of understanding and knowledge of anatomy and pathology.

Responsibilities
  • Perform simple and complex echocardiograms, including emergency or cardiologist-assisted procedures.
  • Conduct pediatric echocardiograms, stress echo, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Interpret diagnostic digital images and hemodynamic data for physician interpretation.
  • Work closely with cardiologists to obtain optimal echocardiography quality.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • 2-Year/Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate from a formal cardiovascular program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, preferred.
  • 1 year of experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer, credentials RDCS or RCS, required.
Additional Skills
  • Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment.
  • Ability to evaluate echocardiograms to acquire diagnostic information.
  • Ability to shift workload to meet patient needs.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to acquire optimal echocardiogram information.
