Overview:

This role leverages accounting principles to evaluate financial data and generate financial reports by consolidating information, preparing income statements, and implementing suitable accounting control measures. This exempt position carries significant responsibility for the company's image, integrity, and outcomes, which may occasionally necessitate exceptional effort, travel, and adherence to strict timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees comprehensive accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, month-end closing processes, and tax documentation. Additionally, responsible for producing financial statements and conducting analyses.
  2. Evaluates revenue and expenditure patterns, providing strategic recommendations.
  3. Manages cash flow effectively.
  4. Prepares annual budgets and compiles information for the yearly financial audit.
  5. Ensures adherence to all applicable federal, state, local, corporate, and other tax regulations.
  6. Supervises the operations of the Accounting Department.
  7. Reviews current accounting practices and procedures, offering suggestions for enhancements.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Submits financial data to headquarters promptly.
  2. Conducts periodic audits comparing budgeted figures to actual results, informing management of findings.
  3. Forecasts and plans in alignment with fiscal requirements.
  4. Engages in ad hoc analyses and projects as necessary.
  5. Manages the General Accounting Department's office operations.

Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:

  1. A bachelor's degree in accounting or business management is required, along with a minimum of five years of accounting experience.
  2. CPA designation is preferred.
  3. Possesses a high level of interpersonal skills to manage sensitive and confidential matters.
  4. Demonstrates the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in challenging situations.
  5. Knowledgeable in finance, accounting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  6. Familiarity with accounting software packages; experience with SAP is essential.
  7. Capable of analyzing financial data to create reports and provide recommendations.
  8. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.
  9. Exhibits excellent communication and organizational abilities.
