Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team as an MRI Technologist. This role involves performing procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, operating MRI scanners and associated equipment, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Examine requests and verify orders for each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as necessary.
- Properly identify patients using two identifiers, assist them during procedures, and provide a brief explanation of the process.
- Interview patients to obtain their medical history, review relevant clinical information, and record it on requisitions.
- Assume responsibility for exams from beginning to completion, preparing and administering IV contrast as needed.
- Evaluate the technical quality of images, consult with Radiologists if required, and recognize abnormal anatomy.
- Perform basic patient care functions, inform nursing staff of any changes, and initiate life support measures when necessary.
- Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA-approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, ARRT or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI within one year of hire.
- CPR certification.
