Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled systems analyst to engage in legacy modernization initiatives aimed at fulfilling the operational requirements of the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC). The primary focus will be on Unix and Windows server management. Responsibilities will encompass:

  • Operating system and application installations, configurations, and enhancements.
  • System hardening and troubleshooting.
  • Utilizing scripting for automation and efficiency.
  • Working with MS SQL and/or Oracle database systems.
  • Collaborating closely with internal IT staff and Data Center Services teams.
  • Creating comprehensive technical and user documentation.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with remote virtual servers and Azure cloud environments. You will be part of a project and support team, actively participating in meetings and collaborative sessions with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for presenting work effectively.

Candidate Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in system administration.
  • Proven ability to manage projects that involve multiple agency systems.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting complex software and operating system issues.
  • Experience in testing systems to ensure compliance with user and functional requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix and Windows system administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting and coding for server operations.
  • Familiarity with Oracle or MS SQL database management.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and collaboration tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in writing user and technical documentation.
  • Background as a systems analyst or security administrator within a state agency.
  • Experience with IBM Datacap Software.
