Our 28-bed orthopedic unit at Dearborn Hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional care to adult patients with musculoskeletal problems. Our interdisciplinary care team, including trauma mid-level providers, physical and occupational therapists, and nursing assistants, work together to deliver comprehensive care. We have the capability to accommodate 4 telemetry beds and are Joint Commission certified for hip and knee replacement surgery.

Scope of Work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients. Our RNs work collaboratively with patients and families to develop personalized care plans and provide education and support. Qualifications
  • Associates in Nursing is required.
  • Bachelors in Nursing is required within 5 years.
  • Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire.
  • Specialty Certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
