At University Health & Rehabilitation Center, we are seeking a skilled Speech Therapist to join our team. As a Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with communication disorders, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with communication disorders and develop treatment plans to address their specific needs.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to patients, using a variety of techniques and strategies to promote communication and cognitive skills.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document patient progress and treatment plans, and communicate with patients and their families to ensure they are informed and engaged in the treatment process.
  • Participate in staff development activities and in-service education programs to stay current with best practices and research in the field of speech therapy.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • Current state licensure.
  • Current CPR certification.
Work Environment

This position operates in a health care setting, requiring regular walking to various locations around the care center. The incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease, and infection from patients and specimens in the working environment.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
